Godzilla Review

Confession: Godzilla (1998) is not a bad giant-monster film, I saw it as kid and (that’s the reason why I) enjoyed it. The problem mostly came from the name “Godzilla” while the monster in the film itself has no any resemblance to any of Toho’s Godzilla which really—REALLY—angered the fans.

If the studio marketed the film as “America’s giant lizard film in the same universe as Godzilla” and changed the title into, anything but Godzilla, will it accepted better by the fans? I guess.

Fun fact: Toho own the trademark for the 1998 Godzilla and changed the name into “Zilla”.

Now let’s talk about the reboot, shall we?

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Review

[Just an opening, skip this if you want to go straight to the review]
Waktu pertama kali melihat berita mengenai reboot The Amazing Spider-Man, gue sedikit bersyukur karena berarti tidak perlu ada kelanjutan Spider-Man 3. Tapi setelah melihat trailer dan kostum The Amazing Spider-Man, gue menjadi tidak tertarik dan bahkan memutuskan untuk tidak menontonnya di bioskop.
Kemudian setelah beberapa lama, mumpung senggang, gue menonton The Amazing Spider-Man melalui salah satu channel di Tv berlangganan.

To put it simply, it’s just too damn mediocre. I realized the fact that this Spidey is more Spidey than the last (how he moves, how he talks, how he cracks jokes) but, that’s it. The villain is so mediocre and the story is forgettable.

The Amazing Spider-Man is disappointing.

[Opening ends here]

So, how’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2?
